HAT HAIR, I'VE GOT IT!

This week's prompt over at 'The Writers' Post' on Facebook is hosted by the wonderful Jenn Duffy-Pearson of the blog 'Wine-n-Chat' and Jenn wants to know, "How many hats do you wear and if you could cut one hat out of your collection, which one would it be?" - I love this prompt.

I decided to cover some of the "mom" hats. I'm sure I'll miss a few because some of the mom hats surpise us as we go along. Like this one..

At least their teachers at school think so! 

Have you tried doing your kids homework lately???

We tend to flus, coughs and colds. 

Scraped knees and broken hearts.

We bake cookies and cakes and make sure all fruits, veggies, dairy, grains and protein are all wrapped up into the meals of the day, hidden somewhere in the frosting of the cake and the chocolate chips of the cookies.

We are the designated taxi driver. 

And yes. This is exactly what I wear when I'm driving my kids around and running errands. The PTA loves me.. Well, at least their husbands do.

We are teachers, always, every day in every way.

We are policemen or wardens, whatever it takes to get the homework n' chores done and get everybody in before curfew safe n' sound. Make no mistake, we are here to protect and serve.

And if you're like me and have more than one child, you know this hat all too well.

The hat I would cut out of my collection??? Did you really have to ask???

Maid service is out of service!

Of course at the end of the day when we feel those arms wrap around us and we get those good-night kisses and hear those precious words, "I love you mom," one of our surprise hats magically appears..

And all is right with the world...
