- I claim this song too only because at some point, every guy I ever dated has sang this song to me and/or dedicated this song to me. It's kind of funny actually because this one guy used to sing it to me every morning in the shower, so every time another guy has sung it to me, it's only made me think of my shower guy. I know. I'm a bitch and probably why my girlfriends dedicate songs like 'Good-Bye Earl', 'When He Cheats', 'Independence Day', and 'The Bitch Is Back' to me. Whatev. Whatev. Still a great tune. Enjoy!

Loved Patty Smyth back in the day. One of her songs, 'Sometimes Love Ain't Enough' came onto one of my Pandora stations the other day...so funny that you should post about her.

Both excellent songs!!! I am a brown-eyed girl too! And I had a boyfriend years ago who sang the Van Morrison song to me. :)
@Jersey - I love "Brown Eyed Girl" because everything is ALWAYS geared toward the blond, blue eyed girls! There were never any brown hair, brown eyed dolls! Even Disney only had one dark haired princess - then. So this song has always been a "in your face Barbie!" :D

Your post took my back to my school days when I used to hear the song "Suzie-Q" sung around me often. Brown-eyed girl is a good song for a brown-eyed girl(me).
