Am I right ladies? I know I am...
Yesterday was such a long day. Boy child #2 had to go back to the dorms. When he came home it looked something like this.
But when he had to leave I was like this.
We had such a nice holiday with him. He's such a good kid. He's only an hour away but we sure do miss him and we don't get to see him nearly as often as I would like, which would be every day! On the way out of town we had lunch at Culver's which is this really awesome burger joint. The food is so yummy. My son opted for the triple Culver deluxe burger. I had the rueben and it was to die for! After dropping my boy at the dorms and checking out his awesome room. He's done a great job decorating. I headed over to my lit'l sis' to visit for a bit but not before snapping this handsome pic of my son's photo off of the "all people important" board at school. He's an RA (Resident Asst.), which means he helps settle the "newbies" in, makes everyone feel welcome, he's a mediator and an enforcer of the rules. He's also just your all around go to guy if you have questions about dorm living, college activities, classes, etc. He's there to point you in the right direction and to help make your college experience awesome. My son is phenomenal at this!
After saying my boo hoo good byes to my son I headed over to my sister's place and was greeted by these two blessed creatures, Brandy and Lilly. Brandy is the blond, Lilly the brunette. I just absolutely love these furry family members. They are just the best. They're not yappy, they don't jump on you. They greet you, show you their toys, let you sit in their favorite chairs, give you a lit'l bit of lovin' and then just let you visit. They are the perfect hostesses.
And then there is Mr. Kitty and my favorite - sshh don't tell anyone - Ping! Mr. Kitty is very sociable and will come out and say hello to everyone. Ping is much more selective and she likes to make an entrance. She doesn't like everyone but she LOVES me so I really feel like I'm in with the kitty in crowd.
Mr. Kitty and Brandy
And my beautiful Ping.
I know, I know..
She actually belongs to my sister
but she loves me too!
It was long day of traveling and getting in and out of vehicles, too much sitting but the visiting was great, however, when it was time to come home I was ready and fortunately for me a nice bottle of Riesling, a couple of Xanax and several dvr'd episodes of "Castle" awaited me and soon I had nodded off into a much deserved sleep of the dead!
What's on my agenda for today??
Yep. Pretty much.

Awww, what a handsome young man! Love the pups and kitties too of course. Glad you had a good visit, I can sure relate to this post. Here's to a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2013! :)
Despite the good byes, not a bad day!! I spent my day SLEEPING IN, food shopping and trying out my new deep fryer for dinner =). Think I'm gonna play CLUE with the kids now!
Nice looking dogs and cats.....they must be so special and wonderful!!
@Becca - It was a wonderful trip. Thank you.
@Martha - Thank you so much. He's a pretty special guy.. And yes. My sis has the most wonderful furry family members.
@Melanie - Not a bad day at all. Your day sounds awesome too.. I could go for some sleeping in! :)
@A - Thank you. Yes they are!
Just seeing that top pic on my dashboard, had me laughing before I'd even read further.
I cry all the time when it comes to Spawn. I cried when he went nursery/kindergarten, though it was only for 2 hours. I cried when he was at reception, year 1-6 and the first day I said goodbye as he went to high school. (and school trips that took him away from me for over a week) I think that by the time he goes to university, I'll be a basket case.
Your son sounds so special. He's a credit to you. :)
Sounds like you had a great day, even though there were some tears in between! And awww on the fur critters, so cute! And I loved the intro to the post! :) Hope you have a great Tuesday!
@Lily - Isn't that picture the truth tho? I mean honestly, especially if you've got DD's! And I know.. It doesn't matter how old they get I will forever boo hoo when it's time to leave. Thank you Lily.. He is very special.. <3
@Gossip - It was a great day and I am still missing my boy dearly..
